All parents of children at Ampney Crucis School are automatically ‘a Friend’. One of the most important roles of the Friends is to help all the parents and teachers work together for the good of the children.
The Friends Committee holds regular meetings and is responsible for organising fund-raising events (i.e. Supper Evenings, Quiz Nights, Cake Stalls, joint School and Village Fetes) and providing a social link for children, parents, teachers and villagers (i.e. Children’s Discos, Sports Day BBQs, Mum’s / Dad’s Nights Out, Village Bingo).
The contribution you make as a Friend can be as small or large as you like, but every effort helps in enhancing your child’s school environment. We have paid for interactive white boards in the classrooms, an adventure playground, day-glo jackets for school outings, Nativity costumes, pantomime visits at Christmas etc.
If you are able to help, or would like to know more about what it involves, please come along to our next meeting. These are informal get-togethers, either held at a parents house or at school (children welcome). Please see notice boards for details, or talk to us in the playground – Mrs. Wilkie can always help if you don’t know who to speak to.
