Term 5, week 1

Date: 14th Apr 2024 @ 2:21pm

And just like that, we are in Term 5 and the sun has tentatively begun to show itself, at last!

The children settled back into school really well and it was a pleasure to welcome our two new students to Chestnut Class.

As typical of the start of a new term, we have already gotten stuck into our new topics and the children are looking forward to learning more about light and reflection, as well as the Anglo-Saxons. In fact, we managed to read 'Winter of the Wolves' across 3 sessions this week, in readiness for our writing unit and this gave us a valuable unsight into what may have brought the Angles, Saxons and Jutes to Britain.

We discussed our very first Big Question: If you had a different name, would you be a different person? As always the children gave thoughtful and insightful answers!

As the weather gets warmer, please ensure that your child is properly equipped. A water bottle is essential and a waterproof coat for showers is also needed.

Please look out for the information about a class trip coming out in the next couple of days!

Together we live, learn and flourish
