Week 4, Term 5

Date: 3rd May 2024 @ 3:46pm

What a great week we have had in Chestnut Class!

On Monday, we welcomed our student teacher to the school. Miss Smith is on her final placement before becoming a qualified teacher and she has slotted right in. Over the coming weeks, with my support, Miss Smith will be taking on more teaching responsabilities.

Tuesday was a super day out at the Dean Heritage Centre where we met a 'real' Anglo Saxon, Athelstan, who taught us about the types of food he ate, animals to track, foraging, weaponry and war-fare. The children honed their battle cries and held spears and swords!

In Science we investigated how shadows are formed and in RE thought about what the daily prayer rituals mean about  God for Muslims.

Our flashback narratives for Podkin are going well and we ended the week by making clay pinch pots.

Together we live, learn and flourish

About Us

We may look small from the outside, but we have lovely grounds to explore at the back of our school as well as new library that is the pride and joy of all our school.
