Autumn 5
Date: 20th Oct 2024 @ 5:44pm
This week we have been busy in music learning the chords to the sea shanty drunken sailor in music. Next week we are collaborating in groups to rehearse and perform to the rest of the class.
History has been all about the Vikings legacy in England. We have studied maps and looked up the names of settlements that came from the Viking names like -toft, -by and -kirk.
Maths problem solving on Friday involved a fantastic Nrich investigation into using 4 numbers between 1-9 to make four different 4 digit numbers and to add them together to see if we could make the total 100 exactly. The children all enjoyed the investigation and we had some excellent theories from the children on whether odd or even numbers made a difference to being able to reach our target total.
