Holi Festival
Date: 10th Mar 2023 @ 3:58pm
We had such a lot of fun today celebrating the Holi Festival which runs from 8th-10th March. It is a Hindu festival celebrated all over the world and is known as the festival of colours. It also marks the beginning of Spring. We listened to the story of Prahlad which Hindu people celebrate during Holi, remembering how he disobeyed his father, the King, by continuing to worship his God Vishnu rather than the King and how Vishnu saved Prahlad from a fire intended to kill him.The second day of the Holi festival celebrations is known as the Carnival of Colour. This is when everyone goes into the streets to throw colourful powders and coloured water on each other. We had our own Carnival of Colour today, the children put on their all in one suits and each had a cup of colourful powder paint to decorate the playground with. Some inevitably ended up on the suits and on some faces but the children absolutely loved it!
