Maple Class - Term 4 week 7

Date: 10th Apr 2025 @ 12:36pm

Well, this week has gone in a flash and we have been doing all things Easter!  Our book focus this week was the Easter story, which of course, we have been learning about in RE all term.  Our grass we are growing in our tuff tray is amazing and we added to it to make our own brilliant whole class Easter garden, including our wooden crsses we made in Forest School last week.  We have been thinking about how people celebrate Easter in different ways.

We looked at all different designs of Easter cards and then got creative and used a variety of resources to make our very own individual Easter cards for our families.  We love how unique and individual they are - fantastic job Maple.

We enjoyed making Easter nests this week after Frankie brought some in that he had made at home to share with his friends.  We thought about the sequence of the recipe and then followed it to make our own.  We noticed what happened to the chocolate when it was in the microwave melting  itwith the butter and syrup, we then mixed in the cornflakes, put the mixture into cases, added the chocolate eggs on top and popped them in the fridge to set.

On Wednesday afternoon we had fun with Mrs Wood having an Easter egg hunt, lots of enjoyment was had, as well as making our large whole class Easter garden.

On Thursday saw us walk down to the church for our Easter service and also to say goodby to Reverend John, who is retiring.  We had a great celebration, singing songs, listening to the Year 6's perform "I'm a Disciple, Get Me Out of Here" and we waved our palm leaves that we had made in RE a few weeks ago.  Once we got back to school we had snack outside, and listened to the story The Teeny Weeny Tadpole by Sheridan Cain and Jack Tickle, from our story vote today.  This was followed by a chocolate hunt in the Forest School area, what fun we had hunting for all the lollies that Mrs Cordell and Mrs Duffey had hidden for us!  We also checked on our frogspawn that we found in Forest School last week, it is still there, so we look forward to seeing what it's loke after the holidays.  Then it was lunchtime!  Wow!  What a busy day!!  Lisa from the library also popped in to see us to wish us a happy Easter. She was dressed as the Easter bunny, we always love seeing Lisa and look forward to her reading us more stories next term.

We hope you all have a very happy Easter and enjoy the sunshine, while it lasts.  Thanks for all your support this term, and we look forward to welcoming you back to Maple class on Monday 28th April.

Together we live, learn and flourish
