Willow class blog week 2

Written by Willow Class and Miss Jackson

We have had a fantastic week of learning.

Here are a few things we have enjoyed:

  • I have enjoyed learning about Pudding Lane and we were detectives looking at clues to find out how the Great Fire of London started - Bea.
  • We have enjoyed our explore and learn areas, including our very own Pudding Lane bakery - Freddie.
  • I have enjoyed building our construction area using Lego to make a shop and pet shop - Roberta.
  • I have enjoyed exploring the book corner and our new books - Annabelle.
  • I have enjoyed practising my phonics knowledge in explore and learn time and also learning the new sounds /oy/ and /dge/ and /ge/ - Year 1 and 2.

We also have selected ‘Explore and learn’ monitors to look after our independent learning areas.

Willow class have settled into the class routine brilliantly and it has been a joy to see fantastic effort, perseverence and resilience this week. We have enjoyed exploring our Great Fire of London topics, carefully looking at different sources to find out how the fire began. In RE, we looked at what makes us all special and unique. In English, we have started planning our information leaflets all about how we can help the planet! Year 2s have tackled tricky numberline problems this week, whilst Year 1s have been perfecting their counting skills. This afternoon we even learnt that a bin is technology!

We have had a brilliant week!
