Term 1, week 5 - Friday 4th October
Date: 4th Oct 2024 @ 10:25pm
We finished off our week with our wonderful Harvest Festival in the church. It was so lovely to walk down to the church in the sunshine and to see so many of you there to watch Maple class perform Big Red Combine Harvester. The children learnt the Macaton signs to go with the song and we think they did really well performing to such a packed out church.
In phonics this week the children have continued to learn their sounds, this week being i, n, m, d. Do please continue to go over these with your children at home. They are all doing so well and we have been working hard on our letter formations, as well as continuing with lots of blending and segmenting words.
In maths we have been counting to 6 and also been thinking about the 3D world and journeys and how to describe them. We did this during PE when in teams we built obstacle courses and described how we were travelling along it.
As always, we have been doing lots of exploring and learning in our indoor and outdoor environments. This weekend the big shed in the outside area is being removed to make way for a new mud kitchen area in due course.
This week Mrs Duffey spent two days updating her Forest School First Aid qualification, so she will be set to lead the Forest School sessions in Maple class after October half term.
We hope you all have a lovely weekend, and lets hope we get more sunshine, like the last two days.
