Term 2, week 6 - Friday 13th December
Date: 14th Dec 2024 @ 1:28pm
The countdown to Christmas has certainly began here in Maple class. We had lots of Christmas events going on this week. The main being our Nativity performance with Willow Class. We were so proud with how all the children performed in front of such a large crowd. It is always so daunting for anyone standing up in front of lots of people, and we think all the children did brilliantly. Well done Willow and Maple class.
Maple class also enjoyed going to the Everyman Theatre in Cheltenham to see Aladdin, we had lots of tired children on the return back to school!
We have continued to practice reading and writing words containing ‘o’ as the middle sound, such as pot, hop, sock, log, cob, pod. We did brilliantly at reading CVC words associated with Christmas and matching them to the correct picture.
In maths we have been looking at the number 10. We counted 10 objects onto a number frame and looked at 10 on the tape measure and found things that matched the length.
On Friday, we had our whole school Celebration Assembly, well done to the children in Maple class who were awarded certificates. In the afternoon we were creative designing our Superhero capes using different shapes, which all children then enjoyed wearing home. We also made our own wreaths threading ribbon through holes and doing some Christmas colouring.
Have a lovely weekend and we hope those who attended the school Christmas disco had a lovely time.
