Weeks 3 and 4, Autumn Term 2
Date: 3rd Dec 2023 @ 12:06pm
My goodness, what a fantastic couple of weeks we have had in Chestnut Class!
We had a brilliant Literature Festival on Friday 27th where we had the pleaseure of working with both Tracey Corderoy and Lucy Noguera.
In English, we have been writing newspaper reports from November 1922, detailing Howard Carter's discovery of Tutenkhamun's tomb. and our comprehension has been based on Swop, the Satsuma-sized Dog (by Lucy Noguera).
Science has been about classification keys, whilst in DT the moving Christmas cards are well under way with Mrs Wood.
On Thursday 30th, we played the inter-house netball tournament and this was a great (albeit very cold) day, watching the children grow in confidence with their individual skills and as teams.
We finished the week with our trip to the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford, where we took part in the 'Egypt Detectives' session. The children wowed the expert with both their knowledge and behaviour, and we even got to handle artefacts from ancoent Egypt which were thousands of years old!
