Respect

Weeks 4 and 5, Term 1

Date: 6th Oct 2024 @ 8:58pm

In Art, the children have created some lovely block printing mosaics with Mrs Paxford. They also showed  their creativity with the written word with some fabulous desriptive writing for our unit on 'Leon and the Place Between', as well as some beautiful Harvest Moon poems.

In maths, Year 4 have been rounding numbers up to 4-digits by 10 and 100, whilst Year 3 have been comparing and ordering numbers up to 1000.

Our ukelele lessons took a break this week, due to our lovely Harvest Festival at the church, but in week 4, the children moved onto learning and playing their 3rd note.

In History, we began to look at Boudicca's rebellion, with a focus on finding out about her story and character; next week we will look at the threat Boudicca caused the Roman invaders. Suffice to say, she's already a big hit!

Our SCARF this week was about respecting the environment and we looked at 'the seven Rs' of how we can help look after the planet. Hopefully, your children willhave been thinking about these, and acting on them, over the weekend.

On Friday afternoon, I gave the class a reading survey to find out about our current attitudes to reading, what the children are interested in etc. The majority of the class love to read and I will endeavour to create a wish list of reading material to engage all learners.

We are really enjoying our class book, The Wild Robot!
