Willow Class Blog Spring Term 2 Week 4

Date: 21st Mar 2025 @ 2:02pm

What a busy week in Willow we have had this week. We have intrdouced some new areas and changes within the classroom which have made already a huge difference with how we approach Explore and Learn. We have introduced longer periods of Explore and Learn to allow us to continue projects in greater depth, we have talked about the value of learning through play and introduced a new funky fingers area to include play doh and fine motor activities.

We have also introduced a snack station as we have talked about the importance of healthy food in helping us with our learning. We have learnt how to prepare fruit and vegetables, cut them and serve them. We have also talked about food hygeine and have tidied and cleaned our food preperation area. We are very keen to help prepare vegetables at home. This also helps us cover all food elements of the KS1 curriculum everyday.

We have enjoyed:

  • Beginning to write our innovated texts on 'The Queens Hangbag' - Annabelle.
  • Learning how to cut up fruit in the snack area - Roman.
  • Exploring the number 17 - Gracie.
  • Using the sand in sensory play to make shapes - Esme.
  • Using the play doh to make sculptures - Freddie.
  • Learning fractions and beginning to recognise a third - Octavia.
  • Playing darts to add up the scores - George.
  • Making a St Patrick Day clover - Bea.
  • Making my own robot - Charlie.

Reminder: Next Friday we are going to the Farm in the morning. Please ensure children have appropriate clothing and wellies on.

Have an amazing weekend!
