Willow Class blog Term 3 Week 5

Date: 7th Feb 2025 @ 8:35am

Another week of fantastic learning complete! We are all beginning to feel ready for a much needed break in a weeks time. We have been very busy in Willow this week, we have explored whether materials bend, stretch, twist or squash in Science, we have looked at Chinese landmarks in Geography and in RE looked at the origins of our names. In Maths Y1 have been looking at the numbers 12 and 13 and Y2 are learning all things 2x and 10x table. BBC Supermovers are a great way to practise these at home with the help of some very well known football mascots. Link: Super Movers: KS1 Maths Collection - Teach. We have also finished creating our story maps inspired by Hannah Shaw and displayed these outside our classroom.

We have enjoyed:

- Playing in the travel agents - Freddie
- Drawing unipiggle - Annabelle
- Learning g making /j/ and c making /s/ - Gracie
- Partitioning 12 and 13. Roberta
- Constructing a lego house - Finley
- Colouring in unipiggle - Bea.
- Creating a flower mosiac in phonics - Charlie and Roman.
- Drawing pugs of Frozen North - Felix.

We have also made some exciting changes in our classroom to improve our explore and learn areas - our role play is currently under construction as it becomes an airport with scanners, check in desks, security and leads onto the outdoor area where a plane will take you to your desired destination. We are very excited!

Have a restful weekend,

About Us

We may look small from the outside, but we have lovely grounds to explore at the back of our school as well as new library that is the pride and joy of all our school.
