Willow Class Week 7

Date: 18th Oct 2024 @ 2:56pm

We have had another happy and busy week in Willow Class.

We have written persuasive letters to the community and begun to plan our own narratives based on 'Last stop on Market Street'. In Maths Y1s have looked at partitioning 6 and Y2s on how to add 2-digit numbers using dienes. In History, we looked at who was to blame for the Great Fire spreading and in RE thought about the creation story. We have also continued to learn the first 3 songs from our nativity. Today we will be coming home with a letter containing our role in the nativity and costume ideas (so we have lot's time to prepare). We will send lines home next week.

We have enjoyed:

  • Learning the new nativity songs and actions, especially 'This is Bethlehem'. Octavia and Archie.
  • Talking about Rememberance in the lead up to Rememberance day and completing some new explore and learn challenges linked to this. Annabelle.
  • Writing a candle to reflect on what we are grateful for and Remembrance. Gracie.
  • Making little minibeasts based on our knowledge of them. Ivy
  • Improving our cutting skills by creating our own unicorns and Halloween trees. Bea and Charlue.
  • Storytime with Lisa and learning about Black History month in storytime. We have looked at Tessa Sanderson and Dame Kelly Holmes. Roman.

Have a fabulous weekend! Happy Friday!! Only 1 week to go!
