Willow Class Week 8

Happy Friday! We have made it to the end of term and what a busy term we have had!

 

We have learnt all about the Great Fire of London, investigated minibeasts and their habitats, practised our number, shape and addition problems in Maths and written our own narratives, letters and adverts in English this term.

 

This week we have looked at Rememberance Day and reflected on what this means to us, we have finished writing our narratives, Y1s have been looking at numbers bond to 5 and 6 and Y2s adding 2 2-digit numbers including exchanging. We have also finished our Science topic and ended our History topic by reenacting the Great Fire. 

 

We have enjoyed this week:
Our new role play area of a Doctor's surgery that links to our new topic of Florence Nightingale and reenacting the fire of London. Freddie.

  • Acting out some stories using different costumes. George
  • Learning the nativity songs. Octavia and Annabelle. 
  • Drawing pictures for Remembrance day. Finley.
  • Doing a read through of the whole nativity. Charlie and Roman.
  • Creating medals to commemorate soldiers and bravery in explore and learn time. Grey and Gracie.
  • Using blockzilla to compare numbers. Humphrey.
  • Making my bunny house in our construction area using junk modelling. Ivy
  • Using the new small world hospital to retell events. Archie.

 

All children have taken their lines home to practise. Please ensure they are bought into school everyday as we will practise different scenes throughout the week.
